This is a hard one because I love movies. Picking just one . . . ah, that's a form of torture for me. But I guess I will have to say my favorite moment in film is when Alan Rickman, as Sheriff George of Nottingham, yells "I'll cut your heart out with a spoon" and follows it up with "Because it's dull, you twit. It'll hurt more".
(I couldn't find a clip with the twit part, but you can listen to it here.)
Do you know that scene? It's from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I adore that movie. I adore Alan Rickman. I'm not ashamed to say I shed some tears when I learned of his death.
Why is that my favorite moment in film? Because of the way Rickman delivers the lines. The way his impotent anger shows when he's threatening Robin Hood is wonderful. So is his withering sarcasm when he tells his cousin why he will use a spoon. Rickman had the ability to convey emotion so well, and I always get caught up in this movie, no matter how many time's I've watched it.
If you haven't watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, I highly recommend it. And not just because of Alan Rickman's stellar performance. The movie is populated with fantastic actors. I hope you enjoy it!

Love that movie! Well ... anything with Kevin Costner, really. ♡♡
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movie lines is from "Untamed Heart," which is on my top 3 list.
"I wasn't finished..."
Simple but so effective. My hubby and I were dating in high school when we saw it together, and we totally stole that line and use it still today with one another.
I want it engraved on my tombstone I love it so much!
