RINGS of POLARIS: A REVIEW

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

FROM AMAZON: Masterfully crafted by Paul Alan, the ‘Rings of Polaris’ series fuses science fiction, dystopian fiction, and action – in an adventure giving Arthur C. Clarke a run for his money.

Readers are invited to strap in with Jason and Rebel Lexis on a mission across the vast wasteland that was once Earth to the surface of Mars. While nobody will deny science fiction’s timeless popularity, both readers and critics are currently crying out for wholly-unique new narratives that don’t succumb to recycling of the “same old” concepts. Thankfully,
Paul Alan has stepped up to the plate with gusto, serving up a compelling new series.

MY REVIEW: (4 STARS) The opening of the book pulled me in, and I was hooked. Alan has a quick, fresh writing style that bodes well for the genres crossed here. There is action, sci-fi-romance, and dystopian--and they all mix into an enjoyable, hard-to-put-down read that kept me flipping pages long past bedtime. I liked how the story flows and meshes and captures you from the very beginning. The characters are well-rounded, the prose entertaining, and--best of all--the writing didn't suck. I recommend for anyone who enjoys sci-fi with a punch.
